Andover Senior Center
August 1 2020
Members, Community Partners and Friends,
Please see the August menu. The menu is subject to change due to availability. We have donations coming every Monday of fresh produce and I have planted a garden to help offset produce costs. Leo Kurtz and others have kindly donated produce to the Center. We have been fortunate to use it in the kitchen, and to hand out the extra to members at lunch time.
The August newsletter will be ready on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00. We are working on many projects and I have a lot of information and resources to share with you. I am moving my daughter this weekend into her new house at KU. This past week has been a whirlwind of positive news that we will be sharing with you soon. Moving forward, you have my commitment that the menu will be emailed, posted on Facebook and hard copies will be available outside the Center in the two new media holders we installed last week. I will ensure it is finished by the 3rd Friday of every month. It means a lot to me that the menu and newsletters mean so much to you.
We have coffee hour on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30-11:30. Come enjoy a breakfast pastry and good conversation. We also hold Exercise on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30. The Bridge players meet on Wednesday's at 1:00 pm. Please call the office if you are interested in playing Bridge with our current group. We have three gentlemen that are eager to play Pinochle on Tuesday and Thursday at 12:15. If you are able to play, please give me a call. I would love to see these fella's get their card going again.
Finally, I want to address the concern around our flag outside about why it was taken down. We received information Friday that there was a rumor our flag could potentially be destroyed due to protests. The decision was made to take down the flag for the weekend as no one would be at the Center. I want to assure you that we are on top of this concern, and will be certain that our Center remains a safe place for the Community. I urge you to stay calm and know that this was most likely a rumor.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me at any time. I am here to serve you. The Board and I want to thank you for your patience and concern. We have an abundance of unwavering support from you. Have an on purpose good weekend.
Kelli Larose, Director Andover Senior Center ASC Board of Directors
